We acknowledge that the barriers of inequality (within the birding community and beyond) and lack of accessibility have prevented many people who would like to explore the benefits and wonders of nature from doing so, and we hope to make this hobby welcoming and supportive of all abilities and experience levels. We are friendly, inclusive, and happy to help beginners!

We chose the name “Kestrels” because the female American Kestrel stands apart from the male in plumage and size (she’s larger) and, frankly, because we love these badass birds of prey.
